A program called AirTool offers basic features for monitoring the built-in Wi-Fi adapter’s settings and status on one or more channels. It can be used together with Wireshark to let you change channel settings while performing live frame captures. In addition, captures can be automatically uploaded to CloudShark.
Features of Airtool:
- View the channel details and Wi-Fi adapter status
- Cut off the network.
- List the channels that are supported along with their widths.
- Take pictures on one or more channels.
- Use external tools like Wireshark or tcpdump to adjust the channel settings while capturing frames.
- Captures can be uploaded to CloudShark automatically or manually.
Smooth Wireshark Integration:
To monitor traffic in real time or examine the dump, start a packet capture and have it launch straight into Wireshark.
No Additional Hardware Needed:
Uses the built-in wireless adapter in your Mac to capture raw 802.11 frames.
CloudShark Integration:
Pcap files can be automatically sent to CloudShark for analysis and sharing. Multi-Channel Scanning: Enables recording on one, many, or hopping channels in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency ranges.
Advanced Filtering:
Set restrictions such as packet slicing (capturing just the frame header) or maximum file byte limits.
