Screen-saving devices
- Incredible new screen savers. There are new screensavers that look amazing on the wide display of your Mac and feature slow-motion pictures of beautiful places all around the world. They automatically become your desktop wallpaper when you log in.
Widgets for the desktop
- Include widgets on your desktop. From the new widget gallery, arrange widgets on your desktop. You may now switch off lights, play podcasts, and carry out additional tasks directly from the widget.
- Use the Mac to access iPhone widgets. Without installing the relevant Mac programs, you may use Continuity to add iPhone widgets to your desktop.
- Widgets vanish to improve concentration. Widgets disappear into the background when you launch an application or window or utilise Stage Manager, allowing you to concentrate on the current job. The widget colours quickly change as you change your wallpaper.
Video conferencing
- Put yourself front and centre. You can take part in the discussion while screen sharing with the new Presenter Overlay. There are two overlays available: huge and mini. Your screen is framed next to you on a different layer, but the big overlay keeps the attention on you. You can walk, move, and talk in front of your content.
- Move your cursor across the shared screen. To make it simple to see when sharing your work, use a small overlay that appears in a moveable bubble above your shared screen. Point out key details as you move around the screen.
- React using your own hands. Include a reaction that uses entertaining 3D augmented reality effects, such as hearts, confetti, fireworks, and more, to fill the camera frame. Additionally, you can express your response with a simple hand gesture.
- A new screen selection. During a video conference, you can simply share one or more apps from the window you’re in.
- Remain in the frame: Use Studio Display or the camera on your iPhone to control the composition of your videos. You can use the zoom and pan controls to adjust the frame, or you can use Recentre to centre yourself in the frame automatically.
- Passwords and Safari
Make a profile. Use distinct profiles in Safari to keep your browsing in “Work” and “Personal” sections. Your history, extensions, tab groups, cookies, and favourites may all be kept apart with the use of profiles. While browsing, you can rapidly move between profiles.
Sharing passwords and passwords
- Superior private browsing: Private Browsing now eliminates tracking added to URLs as you surf, locks your private browsing windows when you’re not using them, and totally prevents known trackers from loading on pages.
Messages
- Filters for searches. Combine search criteria to swiftly narrow your search and find the message you’re seeking more quickly.
- Swipe to respond after catching up.
- You can jump to the first message in a conversation that you missed thanks to the new catch-up arrow. Now, you may respond to any message by swiping right.
- A novel method for sharing and viewing locations. Use the plus button to share your location or ask a friend where they are. View the location directly in the discussion when someone shares it with you.
- Having all of your stickers in one location You can access your live stickers and notes in one location with the new Sticker Drawer. Your stickers are accessible on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac because they are synchronised with iCloud.
Notes and PDFs;
- Use autofill to complete papers more quickly.
- Improved autofill enables you to swiftly complete a PDF or scanned document by securely using stored contact information.
- In a note, navigate through a PDF.
- You may view and navigate between pages of a full-size PDF file in Notes. For easy access to related documents, store several PDFs in a single note.
- Begin in Notes and complete in Pages.
- To send work you’ve started in a note to Pages, click the Share button. Create beautiful documents by adding videos, resizing pictures, customising fonts, and more.
